Welcome to Spotter ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our wellness platform, including our website and mobile applications.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number (optional), password
• Profile Data: Profile picture, preferences, settings
• Fitness Data: Workout logs, exercise records, sets, reps, weights, personal records
• Nutrition Data: Food diary entries, meal logs, calorie intake, macronutrients, water consumption
• Mental Wellness Data: Meditation sessions, mood logs, stress levels, sleep quality
• Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe (we do not store full payment details)

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, interaction patterns
• Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
• Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies to enhance your experience and remember your preferences

2.3 Apple Health and Health Connect

The iOS and Android apps can connect to Apple Health (HealthKit) and Health Connect. Spotter reads and writes this data only after you grant permission. You can disconnect the integration in Spotter, or turn access off in the Apple Health or Health Connect settings.

With your permission, Spotter can read:

• Workouts: Activity type, start and end time, duration, and calories or distance when the workout record includes them
• Body weight
• Activity metrics: Steps, distance, active calories, heart rate, and sleep

With your permission, Spotter can write body weight and workouts back to Apple Health or Health Connect.

When you sync, Spotter stores workouts (activity type, start and end time, and duration) and body-weight measurements in your account so your training and weight history stay available in Spotter. We use this health data to provide that sync. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Spotter does not access blood glucose, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body fat, respiratory rate, or other health record types outside the list above.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and improve our fitness, nutrition, and mental wellness tracking services
• Wearable sync: To import workouts and body weight from Apple Health or Health Connect, and to save body weight and workouts back when you grant write access
• Personalization: To customize your experience, provide insights, and generate recommendations
• Analytics: To calculate streaks, progress, goals, achievements, and generate reports
• Communication: To send account notifications, updates, and newsletters (if you've opted in)
• Payment Processing: To process subscriptions and billing through our payment processor
• Security: To protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

• Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate (e.g., Stripe for payments, Resend for emails, hosting providers)
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
• With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share your information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Spotter is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. By using Spotter, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, which may have different data protection laws.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

10. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account in the app. Open Account, then Profile, and choose Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. This permanently deletes the account and the data stored for it, including your profile and photo, workouts, nutrition and wellness logs, marketplace posts, notifications, wearable connections, and billing. A Spotter Pro subscription is canceled so you are not charged again. Custom exercises or foods that other people have already used stay in their logs, with your name removed. This cannot be undone. We will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

If you cannot delete the account yourself, email us at privacy@spotter.com and ask us to delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through our platform. Your continued use of Spotter after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
